of Havanas foremost Charanga groups.
Estrellas Cubanas was formed in the 1950’s by the
prestigious musician and composer Felix Reina .

Estrellas Cubanas is now in the capable hands of flautist
Rene Orlando Beltran Borell, who continues to bring to
music lovers traditional Cuban popular styles such as
Son, Cha-Cha-Cha and Guaracha, which with the sweet flavour
of the violins gives you the typical style of Cuban Charanga. |

Their ample and varied repertoire is also enriched
by the Trova tradition as well as experiments with Afro
Cuban melodies for deities known as ‘Orishas’.These
pieces feature on their c.d. ‘Violins para Ochun’
also featuring flautist Richard Egues from Orquesta Aragon.

The band comprises flute, 4 violins,
electric bass guitar, congas, timbales and three singers.
Their line up currently also includes pianist Marcos Duanis
